A special service was held in front of the Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium Sunday morning. More than 30 people paid tribute to veterans as well as those currently serving our country. Congressman Neil Abercrombie took some time off from the Hawaii Democratic convention to talk about the importance of this holiday. "These names here are more than names, they are those who are surrounding by love. And if they are not with us any longer, they remind us of necessity of being surrounded by love of one another," said Rep. Neil Abercrombie, (D) Hawaii. The service also honored two long-time supporters of the Natatorium, Nancy Bannick and Maleka Brown, who both recently passed away. |
