"They're throwing shrimp, they're throwing steak, whatever they can get into this wagon, they load it. And they walk past three manned registers." Police say a manager followed Kalawao out the store and watched her load the stolen goods into a vehicle and drive off. "He's able to give police a description of their vehicle and license plate number. So, 15 minutes later, officers patrolling the area see the car turn into the 7-11 on Farrington Highway, stop the vehicle and observe all the items in the car, and they're both arrested for this theft 2nd." According to police, Kalawao was on probation at the time and went on the run after posting bail on the shopping arrest. Kalawao is wanted on a $20,000 felony contempt warrant for failing to comply with terms of her probation. She's also got two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and a traffic warrant totaling another $23,000. Kalawao is described as 5-foot-9, 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has at least two tattoos, "local girl on her left calf and on her left hand second finger, is triple R." Kalawao is a repeat offender. Police say she has seven prior convictions, mostly for theft. She's known to hang out in the Waianae and Leeward areas. |
