It happened Tuesday at the Pets Discount store on Kapiolani Boulevard.

The 10-week-old is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Shih-Tsu mixed breed.

Employees at the store say a couple came in and seemed very interested in buying the puppy. A store worker says he put three puppies out for the customers to play with while they decide which one they wanted to buy.

"There was another customer that needed help so we went to go back and help them and when we looked back that one particular puppy and customers both were gone," said Jackie Puu.

The puppy has been micro chipped which means if found, the store will be able to confirm if it is the stolen puppy.
