Not only did they pick up things like trash, but they focused on "invasive algae." As one organizer explains this form of algae is a real problem.

"It's a big problem. Invasive algae covers coral, little fish can't hide out, turtles need for food," said Manuel Mejia.

The clean-up was in celebration of "World Ocean Day."
