"He's the funniest guy. The kolohe one. He's the one that picks up the party and makes us all laugh," said his mother, Gwendolyn Kailihiwa. Wilcox was stabbed to death at Club Komomai in Kaneohe just after midnight on Sunday. "It's been hard for my mom. It's never easy for a mother to lose her child, but as for his brothers - me and my other brother - we know that God is gonna take care of us," said Shaun Wilcox, Steven's brother. Witnesses said a man was arguing with his girlfriend in the bar. At some point, the fight moved into the parking lot. The suspect, 35, allegedly hit the woman. Wilcox intervened and police said he was fatally stabbed in the stomach. The suspect ran away. "If he turn himself in, that's the best way he can do it because if you know you did it then just turn yourself in," said Kailihiwa. The triplets' birthday is less than two weeks away. Their mother was waiting to give all of them the same special gift. "I was waiting to give my sons their necklace with a matching bracelet. So Steven's one will be in remembrance on a picture frame," Kailihiwa said. Wilcox graduated from Kailua High School and was working for a landscaping company. Now his family will rely on faith to get them through. "I'm gonna miss his smile. Just being around. I'm gonna miss being a triplet," said Shaun Wilcox. Related Story: |
