Block Art at Pearlridge Center

Many of us have played with legos when we were kids but one man has taken his love for building blocks and made a career out of it. It's called "brick art." Lego artist Nathan Sawaya is show casing his creations at Pearlridge Center. He's built nine sculptures, all out of legos. There's animals, human figures and even architectural structures like the parthenon. Sawaya says this is his childhood dream come to life.

"I started when I was five years old I got my first lego set, then about 8 years ago I started challenging myself to do large scale sculptures out of lego and it's led to my career today," said Sawaya.

Sawaya showed the crowd his skills first hand by building a large mosaic of the Hawaiian flag. His sculptures will be on display through July 20th.
