Sea Lion Pup Born at Sea Life Park Print E-mail

Cute as a button and a bundle full of joy, Sea Life Park is proud to announce its newest member to the family. A 17 pound, 24 inch long female Sea Lion pup is the park's newest addition but don't let her cute looks fool you, when she's fully grown she could reach nearly 300 pounds.

The pup represents a new batch of genetics introduced at the park. Her father Dean was a Sea Lion loaned from Six Flags marine world
to participate in the breeding program. Both the staff and the public are excited about this rare event.

"Not often. So we are very blessed when one gets to join us here and it really brings out a new energy from the staff as well as the people who have the opportunity to see it," said Andrew Scullion.

The park staff has not named the pup yet in the past, they have held contests to decide names of newborn animals, but they are unsure if they will do that this year.
