If watching Kikaida makes you feel like a kid again, a visit to a Honolulu condo could make you giddy. Nearly every open space showcases rows and rows of heros, monsters and retro vinyls.

Graphic Artist Zakka, has gathered a toy collection so impressive it's been featured in magazines. His wife Rae graciously shares their space with over a thousand of Zakka's prized possessions.

"He always calls me Saint Rae, " she says, "because I'm going to heaven because I'm indulging all of his activities."

And then Zakka had the idea and dream of creating his own platform toy. Something kids and adults would get excited about. A modern twist on an old tradition, like those Japanese lucky cats.

Rae adds, "Mineko Neki being the traditional japanese lucky cat, it's spreading luck, good fortune and prosperity."

And so Zakka and Rae partnered to create Miao, a vinyl cat with that same beckoning paw, but he also has a partner named Mousubi.

"I thought well, it would be kinda cool, " Zakka says, " to have like a buddy, friend, and also tie it in and the Mousubi was kind of the natural choice."

It is the beginning of what they hope will become collectibles treasured world wide. They've already been traveling across Asia and the mainland with Miao, and their first run of 500 is nearly sold out. Rae beams as she says, "It is the beginning of a dream coming true.

The next phase is something they're even more excited about. The design on this Miao was created by world famous Tokidoki artist Simone Legno. This fall 49 other artists will create their own collectable versions of Miao and Mousubi. And then the marketing blitz begins for this new Hawaii company. Rae has already created Miao t-shirts, handbags and serigraphs are coming next.
