Kaiser Permanente and other care providers now have a much easier way to see your charts and help with your medical needs. Kaiser and others have now finished their conversion to electronic records. The new system gives doctors around the clock access to all patient information. Paper records no longer need to be requested and sent from office to office, which takes time. Now a patient's file is just a click away. KP Health Connect is the world's largest private electronic health record system, allowing more than 8.7 million patients access to their own medical information. "It's really great because patients, after all, it is their information and not ours. And so it's great for them to be able to see parts of their medical chart and then act upon it to take better care of themselves," said Dr. Peggy Latare, Family Physician at Kaiser Permanente. Patients can access lab results, set up appointments, refill prescriptions by visiting the Web site. And they can email their doctors all from the comfort of their own home. |
