WASHINGTON (AP) - The Bush administration's top health official is expressing frustration that the salmonella outbreak from tainted tomatoes hasn't been solved yet. Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt today asked Congress for more funding and stronger legal powers for food import safety agencies. More than 800 people have been sickened since April, and investigators said last week they are no closer to finding the cause. |
