UH Football Camps for Kids; Future Recruits? Print E-mail

The University of Hawaii is calling on it's future football players and kids who love the game to come to camp. Coach Greg Mcmackin says he knows first hand just how much home grown talent Hawaii has.

"There's some big guys. I say how old are you? Oh I'm 13. And he could play for us," McMackin said.

Coach Mac always thinking X's and O's. But above all the camps he and his staff will be running are meant to give local kids an affordable way to learn more about the game and improve. Last year there were 700 participants, this year they hope to have even more. Players from as young as five and as old as high school seniors are all welcome.

"It's good to hear from as many coaches as you can to get yourself better. Here we have a system, we believe in certain techniques and fundamentals. We throw the football. We play aggressive attacking defense. So guys who want to learn those kind of techniques that's the kind of program that we're going to run for the kids," McMackin said.
