The Kaneohe native shot a five-under par Saturday and he was feeling it again Sunday. on the 9th par-5. This is for bird and to pull him to within one stroke of the lead. That makes it 3-birdies in a row on 7, 8, and 9. Dean shot a two-under on the front. To the 15th, Dean liked this hole all week. He's shooting a one-under on it and this shot is going to allow him to drop that score a bit more. It falls within five-feet of the cup and that would set up his fourth birdie of the round. Dean now two shots behind the leader, but he would play it straight the rest of the way. He'd par 18 to stay at nine-under and finish in a six-way tie for third place and just three-shots shy of Sunday's leader Anthony Kim, who was actually paired with Dean. The 23-year-old had his best round of the tourney with a 65. This is his 2nd shot on the 16th par-5. Check out the back spin, stops about five-feet from the tin. He'd birdie that to go to 12-under par and that's how he would wrap up his first PGA win of the year. Kim pockets just more than $1 million dollars for the win. Dean Wilson earns a season high $255,000. Meanwhile, Punahou grad Parker Mclachlin carded an even par 70 to finish in a tie for 27th place. He takes home $39,000. |
