Aqua Hotels & Resorts is a niche company in Waikiki -- it manages small, boutique properties -- more than a dozen of them. These are properties back from the beach, with room rates half as high as the big name oceanfront resort properties, yet providing the kind of service that is only possible when a hotel has only a couple hundred guests. Beth Churchill, the sales and marketing vice president for Aqua, says kama'aina may still be learning about the company but they have lots of marketing to mainlanders.
