Honolulu Mayor: The Debate
Anthony Carter Signs with Denver Nuggets Print E-mail

No sense in making a gambling game of his career. UH alum Anthony Carter decided on the first day of the free agent signing period that a deal with Denver was his best bet.

AC signed a 1-year contract with the Nuggets for the league minimum, about 1.2-million. He was waiting to see if another team would come up with a multi-year deal, but no dice.

Carter says he’s looking forward to building on what he did last season which just so happened to be a career best of 7.8 points per game and 5.5 assists. He says his success is a direct result of starting duties ar point guard with Allen Iversen and Carmelo Anthony.

Carter tells the Denver Post "I've got to give credit where credit's due, and by me getting minutes, and having the two of the top scorers in the league helped me a whole lot."

The 33 year old now plans on moving his family and buying a house in Colorado.
