More than a dozen people representing 20 engineering companies gathered Saturday at the Davies Pacific Center to announce their support for rail transit in Honolulu. Engineers said they've been studying the rail extensively for 40 years and said it's the best way to ease to our congested streets. "For forty years we have studied this thing over and over again and for forty years the conclusion is the same. Rail is good and we need rail as part of the solution for traffic gridlock," said rail supporter Jim Lyon. A "Go Rail Go" representative said the rail project will bring many economic benefits including 9,000 jobs. |
