DTRIC Offers Insurance Benefits for Hybrid Owners Print E-mail

With the price of gas creeping toward five dollars a gallon, buying a hybrid is becoming a trend. And while mainland companies are offering incentives to hybrid owners, one local insurance company is now offering Hawaii policy holders discounted rates. Here to explain is Linh Depledge from DTRIC Insurance.

DTRIC Insurance announced the launch of the first hybrid vehicle insurance program available in Hawaii. DTRIC’s new “Hybrid Advantage Program” rewards qualifying hybrid vehicle owners by offering them its best insurance rates.

“Hybrid vehicle owners are not only saving on long-term fuel costs, they are also doing their part to reduce auto emissions and keep Hawaii cleaner and greener, which benefits everyone. They deserve to be rewarded,” said Linh DePledge, vice president of sales and marketing. “Although hybrids continue to increase in popularity, no one has created a substantial auto insurance product specifically for these drivers. DTRIC Insurance is proud to be the first company in Hawaii to offer a hybrid vehicle program.”

In celebration of DTRIC’s Hybrid Advantage Program launch, the company is also offering drivers an opportunity to participate in “Deetric’s Hybrid Giveaway” sweepstakes. Residents who call in and receive a free DTRIC auto, home or renters FastQuote between now and October 31, 2008 will be automatically entered to win a two-year lease on a Toyota Camry Hybrid. No purchase is necessary and some restrictions apply. Drivers are encouraged to visit www.DTRIC.com to view the official rules for the promotion, as well as to receive an online FastQuote and all of the details on DTRIC’s Hybrid Advantage Program.

“Skyrocketing fuel costs are a top-of-mind issue with many Hawaii motorists,” noted DePledge. “What better way to share the benefits of hybrid vehicle use and spread the good word on green than to let someone drive away with a new Toyota Camry Hybrid?”

Anyone interested in receiving a free DTRIC FastQuote can speak to an insurance specialist by calling 92-DTRIC (923-8742) on Oahu or 1-877-923-8742 toll-free from the Neighbor Islands.
