Three huge chunks of bone fell from the back of one of the pick up trucks at the intersection of Kahekili Highway and Haiku Road. Police say the bones weren't secured in the truck bed, and slipped out when the driver accelerated at the traffic light. The awful smell forced some residents out of their homes. The bones were so big they couldn't be lifted. Instead someone had to cut the giant bones up into smaller pieces so HPU students could lift the pieces and throw them back into the vehicle. HPU officials say it was a difficult job, but they're glad no one was hurt. Related Stories: |
