The old Michelle Wie... Talented and full of promise. The new Michelle Wie... Trying to fulfill that promise. Battling back from injury and adversity. A good showing this week at the State Farm Classic would go a long way toward Wie getting her tour card next year. So the pressure is on and Wie responds. Five birdies today. She makes the turn at two under par. Now five birdies is nice, but what she did on the par four 15th hole is absolutely spectacular. This is her second shot… a couple bounces... a bit of back-spin… and bingo. It's an eagle for Wie. She cards a five under par 67 today. Could have been even better if a few more putts fell. That one comes up just a hair short. And on 18, with a chance to finish her round with a birdie, the ball lips out. Still, an impressive round when she really needed to play well. Christina Kim is your first round leader at nine under par. It's a one stroke lead for Kim. Now, Wie hasn't finished in the top ten of a tournament since 2006. But she's right there in tenth place after 18 holes. Also on KGMB9 Sports @ 10PM:
