The Hawaii Police Department is looking for witnesses to a bicycle crash on July 27 in Kailua-Kona. A 51-year-old Kailua-Kona man was riding his bike west on Henry Street at approximately 2:15 p.m. when he apparently lost control and hit his head on a light pole east of the entrance to Lanihau Shopping Center. He was taken to Kona Community Hospital and then transferred to The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, where he remains in critical condition. Police ask anyone who may have seen the crash to call Officer Darren Cho at 326-4646, extension 253 or the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential. |
