The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation donated $5 million to the University of Hawaii's Culinary School today. The institute will be built on the former U.S. Army Fort Ruger Cannon Club site on Diamond Head. The 7 and half acre, 40-thousand square foot complex will house two laboratories, a classroom and a public restaurant expected to serve world class food. Classes taught will allow students to earn a bachelors in culinary management. The culinary institute is expected to open sometime in 2011. |
