Saying goodbye is never easy. Especially when your loved one is headed overseas to fight for our country.

"I guess it hasn't hit me yet quite honestly, cause he just came back," said Gina Sunga.

Sergeant Norman Sunga is a squad leader in the Hawaii Army National Guard who is leaving for Iraq next week. They have two daughters, Ashley 18 and Alexis 21, and son Dannon is the oldest. He's serving in Iraq right now.

"He was actually supposed to come home august so he could see me before I leave, but he felt he had to give it to another soldier that needed it more. He's also a sergeant so he's looking out for his soldiers," said Norman Sunga.

With Norman and Dannon both gone, the Sunga women will be on their own. And forced to do the men's chores.

"We're not here to help them out, especially with the cars, make sure you, take them to the maintenance shop, and this is how you change the tires," said Norman.

"Things like that you kind of take for granted, that your spouse takes care of and when he's gone you kind of have to learn how to do it yourself," said Gina.

"You miss their deep voices, and their jokes and just telling you what to do you know just typical father and brother things," said Alexis.

Whenever they're deployed, Gina says she has a fear of watching the news.

"The news will always announce the fatalities. It's heartbreaking especially when it's from Hawaii," said Gina.

So she and her daughters rely on the support of loved ones and their faith.

"It's sad but I continue to pray and just trust in God," said Alexis.

"I have a lot of support from friends, family, work and from church," said Gina.

The next few days will be tough. And the next year, even tougher.

But until then, the Sunga's say they're going to make every moment with each other count.

"Just a lot of quality time because we don't know when we're going to see them again," said Gina.

This will be Norman's second deployment. His son, Dannon, is scheduled to return to Hawaii March 2009.
