Waipio had a chance to continue their run at the Little League World Series today when they faced off against Florida. Let's pick this one up in the bottom of the third. Hawaii down 2-zip, until Pikai Winchester comes to the plate and sends a laser into centerfield. That scores two runs and ties things up. If you recall, Pikai hit two homeruns to get Hawaii thru the regional finale. Speaking of the long ball, bases loaded in the 5th for Dana Tokunaga. And the bases are unloaded by Dana Tokunaga. That's a grand slam and makes it a 10 to 2 rout. And while there are a number of loyal fans on the mainland cheering on the boys. There was also a following in Mililani earlier today. Waipio is now 2-0 in pool play. They still have one more game to go against South Dakota, that's on Monday. Keep in mind, it's the top two teams in each pool who will advance to the U.S. semifinals. Of course, we'll have more highlights coming up later in sports. |
