The state and city transportation departments kicked off their annual "Beat the School Jam" campaign on Monday. Drivers are expected to clog up the freeways so roadwork is also being cut back. Suspending all construction, the majority of the construction on oahu over the two week period starting next monday, to allow people to get used to the commute, said Brennon Morioka of the DOT. Here are some reminders to help ease the commute: Consider carpooling or vanpooling. Drive with care. Watch out for more keiki on the roadways. |
