Police say 16-year-old Ryan McDonald was shot in the chest. Mcdonald was a junior at Central High School. Officers say the suspect, who is another student, was seen arguing with McDonald in the cafeteria just before classes began for the day.

The school, and schools nearby, locked down for hours.

"It didn't sound real," a witness said. "It sounded like a toy gun. No one really took it anything. Then we walked over there and he was laying dead and then he started having little spasm-like shocks."

Police say the victim was likely the only target.

Officers arrested the suspected shooter a few blocks from the school building. Police say the two knew each other.
