Hunger Walk Fundraiser Feeds Thousands

The Hawaii Foodbank's annual Hunger Walk is a fundraiser for the many agencies that use the Foodbank. After a one mile stroll around downtown, the participants enjoy food and entertainment on the grounds of Honolulu Hale.

This year's event was the most successful walk the agencies have ever had, raising about $80,000. The money will help meet the ever increasing demand for food to feed the hungry.

The Foodbank distributed 14 percent more food last year than the year before and member agencies fed more than 130,000 people. This year they expect to feed even more.
