5 have been arrested on the Big Island for a robbery at a Puna campsite. Just after midnight, Monday morning, three men and a woman camping out at Kalali Point reported several men came to their tents asking for money. They say the men had a baseball bat, and threatened to hurt them. The victims called police from a nearby home. Officers arrested 18-year-old Damien Bentosino, 19-year-old John Iopa, 18-year-old Kawa Salas and two 17-year-old boys. Iopa and Salas were each charged with 2nd degree robbery and are being held on $2,000 bail. The rest were released pending investigation. |
