Khaynava Phanthanouvong, 18, died after being shot in the chest early Monday morning. Witnesses said Phanthanouvong, Alensa, and other youths were involved in a brawl at Ala Moana Beach Park. Alensa surrendered himself to police Wednesday night. His neighbors on Palama street said Alensa has been in trouble before. "The crowd of people that he hangs out with have a, let's just say, bad reputation," Dionare Navasca said. "Every one of us here in the neighborhood is just shocked about the happening." Alesna's bail is set at $150,000. Police said Alesna and Phanthanouvong had agreed to meet at the park to fight. Witnesses identified Alensa in a photographic line-up as the man who pulled the trigger. Phanthanouvong's family will hold a memorial service Tuesday at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary. |
