| Sloshing Lava Lake Seen For 1st Time |

For the first time, they were able to see a sloshing lava lake in that newly opened vent in Halemaumau Crater. The scientists had to hover above the crater in a helicopter to see the magnificent sight. The lava lake is estimated to be 160 feet in diameter and 330 feet below the vent rim.
