'Remembrance Walk' Honors Fallen Heroes

On Sunday night, Hawaii residents walked to remember the thousands of people who perished in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Dozens gathered and joined Police, Fire and EMS officials for the third annual "Mayor's Rememberance Walk."

Led by Mayor Mufi Hannemann, the procession began at the HPD headquarters on South Beretania Street and finished at Honolulu Hale with a somber ceremony.

"We participated because we wanted to represent our agency and all the fallen officers that perished and firefighters, EMS and police department in New York," Tracy Fermin said.

This Thursday marks the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York and at the Pentagon.
