But volunteers worked to get everyone in as quickly as possible. "It getting easier every year and they also tend to the disabled people that need help," said voter Raymond Apa. At Roosevelt High School there was some confusion over a new voting location. "So this is a new location so we went up to the old volley ball courts and had to turn around and come back here but it is fast," said voter Mary-Jo Corboy. Overall, the new ballot did not seem to be a problem. "I like the new ballot it had a bigger puka to fill in and I thought it was a little more precise," Corboy said. "I though they were fine except if you didn't realize that you had to black out the whole thing....cause I am used to just doing the X's," said voter Gail Grief. Rep. Neil Abercrombie brought his dog as he cast his ballot at the University of Hawaii Lab School. He's still concerned the new voting rules will lead to more spoiled ballots. "Well I hope they work out OK, you have to pick a party and people may want to like in an general election...just pick who they want so I hope their aren't too many fouled up ballots," said Abercrombie. |
